As I stepped into the airport I was hit with a flurry of emotions. Happiness as I was about to embark on the journey of a life time. Sadness as I was about to leave my love & family behind. Nervousness as I have never travelled alone & excitement of what was to come.
I can't say much about the flight, it was like any other, uncomfortable and at times frustrating by the amount I was woken up throughout the 15hours, but none of that mattered once I landed in YVR. A train, bus & ferry ride and I had arrived at my AirBnb room, another first for me. So many firsts, I felt like a child again.
I had the next four days of adventure through Vancouver to look forward to, but all that I wanted was a nice meal and some rest. Which is exactly what I did. I drifted out of my apartment and found myself at Londsdale Quay where I investigated a local eatery named Burgoo, and yes, I was fooled by the name. Walking in I expected gourmet burgers & fries but was pleasantly surprised by a wealth of soups & warm winter meals on offer. It was delicious, mushroom soup with parmesan crusted bread.
A short walk home & I was ready for bed, I needed it as for tomorrow I would be dealing with signing up for bank accounts, insurance & a mobile phone....
